Learning to respond to new needs in our families and communities
I hope this email finds you and those you care for safe and well while we are all learning to respond to new needs in our families and communities.
This Thursday, April 16th, at 6:30 PM, we will be hosting our 3rd Virtual Community Meeting. We will be sharing updates on COVID-19 in Skid Row, how we are supporting residents and frontline staff, and progress we've made in the last few weeks with your help. We are thrilled to have Dr. Lisa Abdishoo, President & CEO of Los Angeles Christian Health Centers (LACHC), join us to share her insights into what we can do to support crisis needs and what LACHC is doing to expand their practice during COVID-19 and after the pandemic settles. LA Christian Health Centers is one of our newest partners in supporting the well-being of Trust residents and the Skid Row community. LACHC will own and operate the three story 25,000 square foot community clinic development by Skid Row Housing Trust at the new Six Four Nine Lofts community. The three-story clinic, called Joshua House Health Center, will provide top-quality healthcare to meet medical, dental, optometry, mental health, and social service needs.
Thank you for your gifts to our Banner Bank challenge grant campaign! Your support has secured $20,000 in emergency funding for Skid Row Housing Trust during this time of crisis.

Lisa Abdishoo, MD, currently serves as the President & CEO of Los Angeles Christian Health Centers, overseeing all day-to-day operations of the organization including clinical and administrative services. Her passion for expanding access to health care and using it to create pathways out of homelessness has fueled her work with LACHC for nearly 20 years.
